Logixs represents Spain at the UN Open Source Week after winning the Responsible AI hackathon of the Government of Spain

Madrid, June 22, 2026. While the United States leads the global race in generative AI with companies such as OpenAI and Anthropic, Spanish talent is beginning to claim its place. At Logixs, a pioneering Spanish technology boutique in generative AI solutions, we have just taken a step that confirms it: we have been selected to participate in 'UN Tech Over', within the United Nations Open Source Week 2026 in New York.

The selection comes after proclaiming us winners of the national hackathon 'Reto Responsible and Open AI in Industry', promoted by the Government of Spain through the Secretary of State for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence (SEDIA) together with the Spanish Agency for the Supervision of Artificial Intelligence (AESIA), held in Aragon on June 2. We won with Open Passport, an open source solution that allows industrial SMEs to save up to 4,000 euros annually in regulatory compliance.

From a hackathon in Zaragoza to the UN in New York

In New York, our team is participating in the UNICEF 'From data to action' challenge, which combines open source and artificial intelligence on two fronts: the development of solutions to make AI agents secure, monitorable and responsibly governable (organized by SEDIA and AESIA), and the creation of decision tools on the UN Data Commons - the platform that centralizes public data of the United Nations system - to support the SDGs, humanitarian response and public policies.

Young and female talent: the bet that marks the future of AI in Spain

The team that represents us is made up of three professionals under 35 years of age: Malen Aguirre (26) and Mencía González-Haba (21), GenAI developers at Logixs, and Luis Bravo (32), head of information security. We have been betting for years on young talent and gender equality in a historically masculinized sector.

"We not only believe in the talent we have in Spain: we want to support it, and this team is proof. That two of the three members are women, in a sector where the percentage of female talent remains low, is something of which we feel especially proud," adds Moreno Balboa.
